One
act of compassion at a time

As the world escapades of Somalia’s pirates, civilians are fleeing the anarchy on land, creating the worlds biggest no man’s land and sea around everywhere. Somalia is a country surrounded by political walls, nowhere to flee from this violence and political assassinations. The pirates off the coast are merely the symptoms of a dysfunctional government, not the disease that needs treatments. It’s a nearly a generation that has produced civil war, anarchy and massive civilian casualties and displacements. The chaos has given birth to extremism and terrorism
Daniela Kroslak, The deputy African Programme Director of the ICG (International Crises Group), suggested to draw up a list of individuals or countries who pull the strings of the piracy business, undercut their distribution systems and threaten travel bans against those holding Somali/western passports as published on the independent Fri, 17th and encouraged the international community to focus on the training of security coastal guards and economic package for semi-autonomous region of Punt land. What about the empowerment of government troops? What’s the hidden agenda?. She showed no optimism about the opposition radicals’ position with Sh Shariif but suggested to face each other at the negotiating table with no planned ground rules for what to discuss?. The question is not only Sari a laws but power sharing.
Director of the International Crises Group (ICG) for Africa proposed a rescue package that would revive Punt land and create an alternative for those drawn to piracy out of sheer survival. Where is the guarantee that those ships won’t dump any nuclear waste s to the sea and rip off our fishery industries?. Are there any punishments, compensations sanctions by those illegal ships that profited large sums from this vulnerable sea and land?
On the other hand, Mr Daniel Howden, who is an exclusive African correspondent for the independent, has reported at least hundreds of Somalis are coming daily at the bleak Kenyan outposts, fleeing for their life from Islamists. They ran as he phrased, because Islamic militants began to dig up the remains of religious leaders from other Islamic sects they considered their rivals. The refuges have no intention to return. He said they are proof of the human cost of the accelerating collapse of Somalia again.
On the other part of the political wall, Kenya’s Information and Communication Minister Samuel Poghiso said that a 5000 km-long fibre optic cable was on course for completion on June. Its estimated $130m will link Kenya coastal town of Mombassa with Fujaira in UAE. Kenyan Government compromised with the foreign navies stationed in the territorial waters of Somalia, to protect a vessel installing as undersea high-speed internet cable from the pirates off the coast of Somalia for Kenya, the minister said yesterday.
It has been reported from African Oil Magazine, that this is an oil exploration Project, contracted by Germany, France and Norway. This is one of the products of the silent conspiracies against Somalia and this silent exodus occurring now has been pre-planned. This is Somali Oil. And it’s a war of oil not religion or piracy
We urge Mr Philip carter, Acting Assistant Secretary of a State for African Affairs to review and focus on along-term security measures to all regions of Somalia. The disease is the non participation of the opposition groups, Diaspora community, businessmen, clan elders, Nationalist, Somali activists and the lack of protection for our own properties. The Government must be inclusive. The terror factor game has vanished and it is over. Any Anti piracy Campaign will never be the instrument to drill out oil neither from Somalia coast ever nor keep failed Technocrats in the post, unless a proper and strong government is installed. We must have a transparent policy, full of hope, less fears and peaceful coexistence amongst all.
The United States can treat this situation with compassion, arrange a negotiating table for all, invite Somali Intellectuals Abroad, opposition members and solve any misunderstanding apart from propagandas. Then you will realise the missing puzzle in reaching an indefinite peace.
Many diverse movements for change have been converging into a more holistic and transparent able moderate institutions. This emerging movement does not belong to anyone group or organisation but supports in helping guide a more peaceful and sustainable Nation under the rule of Law.
